What was your name?

And I doubt 'Sekkira Nendedaga', 'Yuskei Sto Helit' and 'Elemental Henchwoman' could be taken as offensive, unless of course you're offended by usage of Discworld characters...

Also the other day I saw a person by the name of "T H E R A P I S T" should this person be banned because people will think his name is "The Rapist" While its the Therapist? Think we should get atleast some rights in changing names Vs just banning with out explnation...

O_o some people read into things too much. It's just a name for god's sake. If you don't like it, noone is forcing you to look at it.

Haha i heard that one too. Funny stuff. But yea I think we should not be banned for offensive names at all. The box does rate it as teen, and somewhere it might say "Online Experience May Change" like on ps2 games.

I find it offensive, as discworld once invaded my native nonexistantlandelvania.

Side note: Seriously, this whole name banning thing is getting rediculous.

GAILE! HELP!

Right...

You know, I was against it at first, but the more I hear about the names that have been banned, the more and more I like the idea.

Please dont start the "Well is this offencive" stuff.

The OP knew when he made the name that others would not think of a "bakery" term.

You know damn well if your name will be offencive to others when you make it. If you dont have enough forthought to know that, then you are a fool.

This based on the asumption that they are only banning blatently offencive names, of wich I have little doubt of.

While I can see where you're coming from, seriously, it IS out of hand when someone named "Allah Mode" is banned. I would much sooner say that it is probably someone who had it out for the person that put in the complaint than it was an actual complaint against an 'offensive' name.

Remember: Griefers dont have much else to do in game.

Hot Sticky Loads has nothing wrong with it. If the first thing you think of is something offensive, then maybe you need to get your head checked before pointing accusations of offensive material.

Hrm well after hearing a teammate tell of a char named, 'Child Molester' I asked that he report it. Honestly...that's not even the slightest bit funny...and I'm not one of the liberal politically correct tards either :P

Nonexistantlandelvania... I should get a summer home there, methinks.

Name banning does get a little out of hand. But at the same time, some names deserve to be banned. I don't think there's a whole lot wrong with simply reporting a name, as it's then ArenaNet's job to decide what to do with the name in question. Names that aren't fantasy oriented and/or just plain silly should just be left alone, as not everyone should be expected to have fun "your" way, but I can definitely see how names with a double entendre should be heavily considered and sometimes banned. I mean, this is a community in the sense that there are all sorts of people here and some things just aren't funny or appropriate for general audiences.
